Defend the Officers Who Defend Texas Roads
We exist to protect the right of Texas reserve peace officers to work off-duty jobs — defending the workforce that keeps road workers safe, rural counties covered, and Texas infrastructure moving.

What's at Stake
HB 3846 & SB 2144 would ban reserve peace officers from working traffic control and construction zone jobs they have legally held for decades
Roughly 2,500 full-time and 2,500+ part-time Texas reserve officers stand to lose a significant portion of their income with no alternative offered
Texas road workers and motorists depend on real law enforcement presence in active construction zones — private security guards have no arrest authority
The 30-year economic harm to Texas is estimated between $5.5 billion and $11.7 billion
Who We Are
Texas Reserve Officers Defense PAC is a Texas political action committee formed to oppose legislation that would strip reserve peace officers of their right to earn income through legal off-duty employment. Reserve officers hold the same training and certification as full-time officers. They protect road workers, respond to disasters, and fill the gaps that rural Texas counties cannot cover on their own. We believe this legislation is bad for Texas — and we are doing something about it.
